Exchanges
We strongly believe in the benefits of international mobilities, and encourage our students to take part in exchanges with our French academic partners. These include:
-
Institut Mines-Télécoms Atlantique in Nantes,
-
Ecole nationale supérieure de chimie de Montpellier,
-
Institut polytechnique de Grenoble (PHELMA and ENSE3),
-
Chimie ParisTech.
These exchanges take place during the second semester of the 5th year at IFCEN. In the academic year 2016-2017, 11 students from IFCEN joined the exchange programs for a full semester in France.
We also welcome students originating from our academic partners, who can come for a full semester to study at IFCEN, or for an internship in one of our laboratories.
In the academic year 2016-2017, two students from Grenoble INP - Phelma attend the courses of Semester 10.
Testimonies

Alexis BRAULT
Student at PHELMA, in exchange at IFCEN
This exchange with IFCEN was a great opportunity discover a whole culture that was unknown to me , while following my cursus in nuclear engineering. I was looking forward to experience the Chinese life and I was very happy to see how welcoming the Chinese students were !
The high level of the academic expectations in IFCEN seems to be a great asset for my future, and I’m very proud to be part of this first academic exchange with French universities !
China’s nuclear industry is growing fast, and I hope that I could keep links with this country after my exchange. Moreover, IFCEN is supported by French’s major nuclear companies and important research organisations, which is why this exchange could be a real advantage for a future career in nuclear industry.
Finally, this semester allows me to discover one of the oldest civilizations, as interesting as different from ours !

Jacques LIAN Chengyu
Student enrolled in 2012 at IFCEN, in exchange at Ense3, in Grenoble, France
After four years at IFCEN where I experienced the authentic French way of teaching, I wanted to discover it in France. I was accepted by Ense3 for an exchange in Grenoble for one semester. It is an excellent school of engineering that specializes in the field of energy and environment. Most graduates work for companies such as EDF, ENGIE and Schneider Electric. I'm sure that the program will be an opportunity as well as a challenge for me.
I hope that after the 5-month term at Ense3 I will greatly improve my skills in oral French, and gain a deeper understanding of the French culture. Last, but not least, I'm eager to go skiing in the Alps!

Colombe SHANG Chengming
Student enrolled in 2012 at IFCEN, in exchange at "Ecole nationale supérieure de chimie" in Montpellier
As a postgraduate student, I plan to build an international career in the field of radiochemistry, so this exchange program will really mean a lot for my professional aspirations. I perceive this program as an excellent opportunity to improve my French and English language skills and to experience a foreign education system.
I appreciate every chance to learn new distinctive competences, in order to be better prepared for my future career in radiochemistry. This is also an opportunity to meet a new culture and to expand my contact network, by meeting colleagues from Europe. The experience will be valuable for both my studies and personal development.
